General Prepaid Questions
Why prepaid wireless
- What are the advantages of getting pre-paid cell phone service versus
post-paid cell phone service?
1. Lets start with explaining that not everyone can get traditional postpaid
service. When you get traditional postpaid cell phone service you will have
to provide a social security number and pass a credit check, and in most cases
will be required to have a credit card. However with Prepaid you do NOT need
a social security number, you do NOT need to pass a credit check, and you do
NOT need a credit card.
2. With traditional cell phone service you most likely have to sign up to some
kind of commitment. Most wireless carriers require a 2 Year (24 Month commitment)
and if you cancel you pay a penalty of over $250.00. With prepaid there are
NO Contracts, NO Commitments, and NO penalties for canceling service.
3. With traditional cell phone service, overage (the amount a minute costs over
your included minutes) typically costs $0.45 cents a minute. Think about it
you have a $29.99 plan which includes 200 Minutes that's $0.15 cents a minute
and you use 50 extra minutes this month your bill BEFORE TAXES will be $52.49
now add on taxes of approximately 17% and your cost is $61.41. With prepaid
the same 250 minutes costs you as low as $25.00*.
*Based on Airvoice Wireless $100 Card @.10 cents a minute.
4. Prepaid Wireless lets you control your wireless spending and budget. With
prepaid wireless you only use what you paid for so when you run out of funds
you won't be charged huge overage charges. You can just add more prepaid airtime
minutes by purchasing a new prepaid refill phonecard this will add funds to
your account when you want it. So you spend only for what you want to use.
5. With prepaid wireless you still get the same features that post paid cellular
users get including:
Caller ID
Call Waiting
Call Forwarding
Three Way Calling
Text Messaging
Voice Mail
Nationwide coverage
Long Distance
International Calling
6. In addition to the above features you enjoy:
NO Contracts
NO Credit Checks
NO Deposits
NO Monthly Bills
NO Crazy Overage Costs
NO Age Restrictions
What is Text Messaging?
Text messaging (or Short Message Service — SMS for short) is like an e-mail
for your mobile phone, only your carrier limits the number of characters you
can receive in these messages.
What is roaming?
Roaming is a service offered by most cellular service providers, allowing users
to use their phone even if they are not in their home coverage area. In general,
using a phone while roaming incurs additional fees, most prepaid wireless carriers
include roaming at no additional cost, thats free roaming on most service plans.
When a phone is in a roaming area, it usually displays an indicator light or
logo such as "R" or "ROAM". An increasing number of phones
offer what is called Internation or Global Roaming, since it allows users to
make and receive phone calls from virtually any country.
What is cellular?
(sel´ū-l&r) (adj.) Refers to communications systems, especially
the Advance Mobile Phone Service (AMPS), that divide a geographic region into
sections, called cells. The purpose of this division is to make the most use
out of a limited number of transmission frequencies. Each connection, or conversation,
requires its own dedicated frequency, and the total number of available frequencies
is about 1,000. To support more than 1,000 simultaneous conversations, cellular
systems allocate a set number of frequencies for each cell. Two cells can use
the same frequency for different conversations so long as the cells are not
adjacent to each other.
What is GSM?
Short for Global System for Mobile Communications, one of the leading digital
cellular systems. GSM uses narrowband TDMA, which allows eight simultaneous
calls on the same radio frequency. GSM was first introduced in 1991. As
of the end of 1997, GSM service was available in more than 100 countries and
has become the de facto standard in Europe and Asia.
What is TDMA?
Short for Time Division Multiple Access, a technology for delivering digital
wireless service using time-division multiplexing (TDM). TDMA works by dividing
a radio frequency into time slots and then allocating slots to multiple calls.
In this way, a single frequency can support multiple, simultaneous data channels.
TDMA is used by the GSM digital cellular system.
What is CDMA?
Code Division Multiple Access, a cellular technology originally known as IS-95,
competes with GSM technology for dominance in the cellular world. Short for
Code-Division Multiple Access, a digital cellular technology that uses spread-spectrum
techniques. Unlike competing systems, such as GSM, that use TDMA, CDMA does
not assign a specific frequency to each user. Instead, every channel uses the
full available spectrum. Individual conversations are encoded with a pseudo-random
digital sequence. CDMA is a military technology first used during World War
II by the English allies to foil German attempts at jamming transmissions. The
allies decided to transmit over several frequencies, instead of one, making
it difficult for the Germans to pick up the complete signal.

Spend Limits
What is a spend limit?
A spend limit is a set limit of how much each customer may spend in a certain
period of time.
What is a cart limit?
A cart limit is the total amount can purchase per order.
Why are there spend limits and cart limits?
At Get Talk Time we try very hard to protect ourselves and our customers from
fraud, we therefore set limits to the amount each customer can purchase at one
time, in one day, in a week, and in the past 30 days. Most users purchase under
$50 a week worth of airtime, and therefore these limits won't really interfere
with most users however in order to protect our customers from fraud we prevent
high orders because they are usually fraudulent. Once you have been a customer
for a predefined period of time your spend limits will grow.
Checking Out
Why am I having problems checking out?
Does your order comply with our terms of use? Is your order below your spend
limit?
Usually if you have a problem checking out its because you are over the cart
limit or your spend limit. See Above regarding Cart and spend limits.
What is a processing fee?
A processing fee is a fee that is added to an order under a certain dollar amount
in order to recoup credit card charges for small orders.
Why is there a processing fee for some orders?
There is a $0.50 cent processing fee for all orders under $15.00 if you wish
to avoid this fee simply add an item to your cart to make it more than $15.00.
Will I be charged tax on my order?
If you live in the State of New York we are required by law to collect sales
tax from you, therefore there will be an additional charge of 8.625% sales tax
on all orders for customers in New York Sate.
Getting your Pins

done in order to prevent fraudulent orders. To avoid this problem make sure
